3...2...1...Main engine ignition. Launch of STS106, Atlantis. It's mission to dock with the International Space Station and prep and supply stock it for the permanent crew. If you ever have the chance to watch a shuttle launch don't pass it up. It is one of the most amazing sights you will ever see. The brightness of the rockets, the loud rumble of the engines when 6 people are shot into space is incredible. This is the first launch we went to the Space center to watch and it won't be the last. At 6 miles away you can feel the rumble of the booster rockets.
