We are Sandi and Jim Sawyer, Welcome to our Home Page.

Visiting Florida? Check out our Florida Page and our Picture Gallery

For 19-years Sandi and I lived in Michigan. We are now living in Florida. Poinciana, Florida to be exact. Florida has always been home for me but it was a new experience for Sandi. We have been here for over 10 years. We started out living in Cocoa Beach, in a condo on the ocean, but Cocoa Beach gets really crowded during tourist season. so, we rented a nice little house in Titusville. Finally we bought a house in Poinciana. There is so much to do and see here in Central Florida.

When we lived in Titusville we were in sight of Kennedy Space Center and watched many launches from our front yard. Here in Poinciana we have Disney, Universal Orlando and about 50 other cool attractions within a half hour drive. Best of all we have "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" at Universal Orlando. Also, let us not forget the weather. In short, life is good.

Both Sandi and I believe we are soul mates. In a strange way it feels that we have been together before, perhaps in former lives, or levels of existence. From the very beginning we were attracted to each other. To quote the words I said at the end of our first date, "You may think I'm crazy, but I love you, and I'm going to marry you." A year and a half later we were married. (She did however, make me work for it.)

Almost 30 years of marriage and learning about each other, always growing together, and we are still newlyweds. Our love for each other is greater each day.

We have two kids from my previous marriage. Jamie, and Jenna. Let's just say they are both over 30. From Jenna we have a handsome, all boy grandson, Robby and a doll of a granddaughter, Francesca. You can see their photos below. The bottom pictures are of Frankie, she's a dancer. In fact she was on the 2006-2007 and the 2007-2008 Detroit Pistons' Jr. Automotion dance team. (Look's like she gets her love of stage from her Grandpa Jim. She's a hard worker and earned what she got.)

Look at the concentration on that face. Jenna loved gymnastics. I'm sorry she messed up her ankle and had to quit it.

Robby loves bikes. Wonder why. Gramps let him sit on his scooter when Sandi and I went over to see them. He just looks natural up there.
This is her rendition of the Shirley Temple "Good Ship Lollipop". OK, I'm not objective, However, I am a SAG actor with 35 years of TV experience under my belt. I can say this...(next frame)
Great face! She maintained a big smile and super eye contact with the audience. She played to the cheap seats, remembered her routine, hit her marks and looked like she was having fun. Sounds like a pro to me!

BikesSandi and I are both Harley owners and riders. We have been to Daytona Bike Week and Sturgis. Sandi rides a 1990, 883 Sporty and I have a 1988 Heritage Softail. I have put a lot of work into my bike. It has a race cam, Screaming Eagle carb, 1948 factory reproduction paint job, 1962 tank emblems, a ton of chrome, and a lot of other extras. My idea was to have a modern engine and drive train in a scooter that looked like the ones I drooled over when I was a kid. I think it worked.

One of our great pleasures is riding our scooters with no particular destination in mind, just enjoying the scenery and each others company. Florida is a good place to do this. Check out our Bike Page, there are pics of our bikes and some of my scooter that were taken for a magazine shoot.

Another hobby Sandi and I enjoy together is fencing and sword play. It helps to have a secure relationship when you're coming at each other with a blade in your hand. We are not great fencers but we enjoy the Katanasport. Sandi likes foil and sabre and I like foil and epee.We have also been members of The Ring of Steel, a theatrical combat group that teaches sword play for stage, screen and TV. Take a look at our Sword Page for more info about fencing and sword play in general.

Scotland Forever bannerOne of our great loves is ANYTHING SCOTTISH. For many years we were patrons for the Detroit St. Andrews Games. We attend as many Highland Games as time allows. Sandi loves the heavy games. She likes checking out the beefy boys that take part in hammer or caber toss. We are members of Clan Thomson. For more information on Scottish events and all things Scottish, including some great links to Scotland, and Florida Scottish events take a look at our Scottish Page.

As you would guess with our involvement in sword play and stage combat we are Renaissance Festival fans. We have performed at many festivals and attended many more. Click the link above to take you to our Ren. Faire Page. There are pictures of us at some of the fairs we have performed at and links to Faire's all over Florida.

Both Sandi and I are big Harry Potter Fans. We like the movies but the books are our favorite. Along with the books, movies and computer games we have collected all sorts of Harry Potter stuff, including costumes, wands and fan collectable's.

Two things associated with the HP world we have gotten a great deal of enjoyment from are the Harry Potter fan fiction stories, we have read hundreds of them, and Wizard Rock.

We are both members of the Orlando Harry Potter Club.

Universal Orlando, opened the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" and we go very often. Check out our Harry Potter Page.

We hope to fill this site with information relating to Harley Events, Scottish/Highland Games, Ren Faire's, Harry Potter, Sword and Fencing information, and information on all of the things that we find fun and interesting.
