I am not actively looking for a new position. However, I am always open to discussion of any interesting opportunity. I would be most interested in working with media relations, training/education, editing, or a entertainment media position. In my current position, with ten years in a TV News station as, Operations Manager, Web Master and Video Editor it should be evident that I work extremely well under pressure.

Promoted to: News Programming Editor, September 2007 to Present (Note: company position title changed to Production Technician 2, June 2011)
In Sept. 2007, I took on the newly created position of News Programming Editor. The position entails coordinating, editing, uploads and programming for "Central Florida On Demand," "News 13 On Demand" and "You On Demand" for Central Florida News 13 and Bright House Networks. The three independent programming streams offer news, current events, special programming and viewer submitted content to Bright House subscribers.

The position requires coordinating with source content providers, editing on the non-linear Liquid editing system, VTS video transfer system, BMS, Showrunner network programming systems and PMG, along with other system programming software.

I am also responsible for creation, and editing of promotional spots and original material for selected presentations. "News 13 On Demand" offers selected news articles and features presented on News 13. "Central Florida On Demand" offers Bright House Production special programming, sports and documentary content.

The position includes establishing content suitability and acquiring content from varied and creative resources.

AVID Composer Certified, Proficient on AVID Liquid, Sony Vegas Pro and Final Cut Pro 7. Proficient with video switching and routing equipment, audio and sound recording equipment. Proficient with studio and field lighting equipment, Proficient with ENG and EFP digital cameras systems and camera support systems.

Extensive experience with Adobe Photoshop. Experience with Adobe Illustrator and After Effects.

Experience with ENG Live Truck operation, satellite and analog microwave. Experience on EFP multi-camera production trucks. Extensive experience on multi-microphone placement and sound recording systems in a EFP environment.


Promoted to: Web Designer-Webmaster, January 2003 to September 2007
In January of 2003 I was promoted to the newly created position of Web Designer/Webmaster. Initially responsible for all development, design, graphics, and code pre-start-up and launch of the new Central Florida News 13 Web site. Working with management and news staff to include appropriate content and working with Bright House Internet staff to implement the site. (Bright House is our server host.) Also involved with staff selection, scheduling and web staff training.

With staff growth and delegation of my original duties I am currently responsible for day-to-day operation, copy-editing of the site. The staff updates the site seven days a week. I report directly to the Director of News Programming.

I am responsible for content selection, copy editing and posting of news and feature content seen on www.cfnews13.com. This includes News, Weather, Sports, Living, Feature, promotions, advertising, design and creation of special segment/sections. Also, management of breaking news e-mail, pager and cell phone alerts and breaking news pop-up banners.

I am proficient in the AP/BBC ENPS Electronic News Production System,Dalet Systems, Microsoft Word, Dream Weaver, Fire Works, Photoshop, Image Ready, Flash, Excel, Web Trends, Newsmaker, multiple browsers as well as Avid Composer, Liquid and Vortex, ImMix, Media 100 and Toaster non linear edit systems.

I am proficient in Mac through OSX Tiger and Windows 2000 operating systems as well as PC and Mac computer hardware repair.

I have good spelling and grammar skills as well as being trained in AP style. Proficient in technical, TV, film, promotion and journalistic news writing styles.

I am also responsible for editing and preparing video stories for Central Florida On Demand. Each day I select stories, edit in Vortex and prep for uploading. Preparation includes writing metadata, a TV Guide style promo for each clip. I edit clips for content, adding lead and tag elements and digitations to Mpeg2 and FTP upload to server.


News Operations Manager, October 2001 to January 2003
In October 2001 I transferred from the Ad Sales division to the News Division.

Responsible for day-to-day supervision, scheduling, training, reviews and hiring recommendations of a technical staff of 18 to 20 employees, including directors, editors, photographers, audio tech and master control tech's. 

I was responsible for keeping complete and up-to-date records on all staff, fleet and production equipment. Responsible for ordering consumables including tape and other technical equipment as needed. Responsible for maintenance of a fleet of 17 vehicles including 2 Wolf Coach Microwave trucks and one Micro Wave/ Satellite hybrid.  I was responsible for scheduling of camera and technical equipment to a staff of over 20 one-man-band reporters.

As in any management or staff position I promoted company policy, values and goals to staff and crew by direction, training and example, and I safe guard the confidentiality of any information in my possession.

As needed I filled in as ENG microwave truck operator and photographer, shooting on DVC Pro cameras and edit on DVC edit equipment. I also filled in as needed as VO talent for station promotions.

I am proficient in operation of studio equipment, remote production microwave trucks and ENG live truck, analog and digital microwave and analog satellite truck operation.

Time Warner Communications, Now Bright House Networks, (a division of Advance Newhouse) Ad Sales Production, Orlando, FL

Producer/Director/Avid Editor for commercial productions. Budget range from $200 to $10,000. Responsible for taking :30, :60 and long format Ad Sales projects from first client contact, through script approval, production and editing to final project approval. Position includes client, AE interaction, Betacam SP and SX shooting, script writing, voice work, freelance and talent contracting and overall production scheduling and supervision. Editing on Avid Composer and Media 100 nonlinear editing systems, averaged from 3 to 5 commercials per week..

 In addition, I was responsible for design, creation and supervision of the TWC Production Department intranet and Internet sites including intranet scheduling system.

 I functioned as primary audio tech. and remote microwave production truck technician for remote truck shoots including sporting events and other local remotes. I also worked with the truck engineer in operation of the microwave broadcast system. I also provide voice and on-camera talent, technical assistance and remote entertainment production assistance, as needed.

Position included client contact, ad copy writing and web/graphic design.

Skills used include writing html, dhtml and Java.  Software used Dream Weaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, FTP and other web related programs. Trained in PC and Mac platforms.

Video Coordinator, Mercy Health Services, International, St. Joseph Mercy, Pontiac, Michigan.
Production/direction and editing of all medical, corporate training and PR productions at the senior corporate level for a multi-facility medical hospital chain. Also responsible for a three person video media department.

Legal and medical training and documentation video production at all levels of care. Produced and directed advertising material, projects for re-sale and internal use. Projects marketed through Lippincot. The 1993 income total from video sales was over $450,000.00.

Supervision of studio facilities, NewTek Video Toaster 4.0 w/Flier and technical crew. Operation of satellite down-link, CCTV systems and supervision of up-link productions. Responsible for all purchasing, budget and management of video unit.

Responsible for in-house production facility and editing suite, including capital budget purchases, staff management and training, equipment maintenance and scheduling.

I am competent in the operation of most video switching and FX equipment, including linear and non-linear, A/B roll, time code editors, including, Liquid, Vortex, Avid Xpress (Avid certified), Avid Composer, Sony Vegas Pro, Final Cut Pro,Premier, ImMix Turbo Cube, Media 100, NewTek Video Toaster 4.0 with Flier.      

I have experience in all video formats, including 2" Quad, 1”, Beta SP& SX, DVC Pro, mini DV, DV 50 and DV25, U-Matic, High 8, VHS and SVHS. I have operated all types of cameras and configurations, (ENG, EFP and studio) including digital and HD.

I have experience with Apple Macintosh, system OSX, Windows Vista to DOS and Amiga DOS, 2000 & 4000 computer systems. Trained on Microsoft Word, Fire Works, Flash, Excel,  Infinit-D 3-D, Logomotion, Aldus PageMaker, Power Goo, Morph and much more. 

I have advanced training on After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Image Ready, Illustrator, and Dream Weaver MX.

My on-camera credits include Unsolved Mysteries for NBC and numerous fifth market local spots. As an on or off camera narrator, announcer or character voice I have done thousands of VO’s.

I am a member of S.A.F.D (Society of American Fight Directors). I am trained in theatrical stage combat and stunt work including sword, fire arms, high falls and hand to hand stage and video/film/stage fight choreography.

I work well in a team or as a one man band. I have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
