Keek-Stane
New Celtic Scottish Witchcraft and Pecti-Witans use a "Keek-Stane." A Keek-Stane is in effect, a scrying stone or the equivalent of a crystal ball, and is used for divination.
The scrying surface is often made of glass, concave on one side and convex on the other. The actual surface can be glass, the convex side is painted black, or made from a material such as onyx with a highly polished surface, that can not be seen through and can focus light inward into the bowl.
Our Keek-Stane is totally hand made. no power tools are used to maintain it's natural harmony. We use a smooth glass bowl painted gloss black on the back side, to produce a mirror like surface in the bowl. The bowl is mounted in a lidded pine box with brass hinges and latch that close to protect the bowl and the reflective surface from dirt and damage. The lid is hand carved with one of several Celtic or Scottish designs.
The bowl is padded with natural moss and herbs to enhance to natural power of the tool.
The user must stare down into the Keek-Stane and focus their power into the bowl. The Keek-Stane must be consecrated at night, in the light of a full moon.
The first time you use your Keek-Stane in the moonlight you will see the illusion of the light floating above the bowl. |
