"Commando Cody, Sky Marshall of the Universe". Commando Cody was a hero designated by the interplanetary council to thwart the plans of aliens from outer space in taking over the earth. To me, Cody was exciting & special. He possessed equipment that provided the means for him to do things that other heroes could not do, with the exception of Superman. He had an aero-dynamic metallic bullet-shaped helmet & a flight suit with a jet-pack strapped to his back that enabled him to fly & swoop down on villains or escape from deadly close calls in the nick of time. He also had a bullet-shaped rocketship that could travel to other planets in the solar system to foil the aliens' fiendish plots. In some episodes he even had a ray gun. He also wore a uniform with a black mask much like that of the Lone Ranger's. However, I do recall seeing some episodes where he didn't wear this mask which confused me to some degree. Being so young at the time I can not recollect how many of the 12 episodes that I actually saw, but it was one of my main objectives every Saturday morning not to miss this show.

The Blue Blaze Irregulars

Also referred to as BBIs.Blue Blaze Irregulars are loyal fans of Buckaroo Banzai and those hard rockin' scientists, The Hong Kong Cavaliers. Each member is assigned a code-name and serial number, along with a BBI patch. There's probably a BBI Chapter in your city or town.

In times of great peril, such as when the evil minions of Hanoi Xan make trouble, BBIs can access a small armory of weapons, there's also a special emergency go phone that directly contacts the Banzai Institute, so Dr. Banzai and his team are alerted to any menace.

My favorite Movies


"Forbidden Planet" Release Date: March 1956. I admit it, I'm a Sci-Fi nut. One of the early films I still love is "Forbidden Planet. It's one of the few films of the era that took the story seriously. They had one of the best ship designs and best special effects the era could offer.	"Day the Earth Stood Still" The best robot in any film ever was Gort. He was a little short on dialog and in one of the shots you can see the zipper in the back of the outfit but what he stood for and how the character was handled was superb.


"Somewhere In Time" Release Date: January 1981. The greatest love story in any movie ever. Beyond fantasy, Beyond obsession, Beyond time itself... he will find her. A Chicago playwright uses time travel to find the actress whose vintage portrait hangs in a grand hotel.	"Creature from the Black Lagoon" Release Date: March 1954. As a kid, this movie scared the crap out of me. The swamp the creature came out of looked like my back yard! As it should, parts of the film were shot here in Florida.

OK, I'm Scottish and I love swords. I gotta like this film. The bottom line is movie 1 was great. all of the following films were crap. Some Highlander fans won't even admit movie 2 was ever made. He fought his first battle on the Scottish Highlands in 1536. He will fight his greatest battle on the streets of New York City in 1986. His name is Connor MacLeod. He is immortal.	In 1992 they came out with a TV version of the movie that was not bad. Again the early seasons were best but Adrian Paul who plays Connor's cousin, ancestor or some such was a fair actor and the plots were good. Duncan MacLeod is Immortal, and must live in modern society, concealing his true nature while fighting other Immortals. Check below for music and clips from the show.
